33 miners, trapped 688 meters underground for 69 days, in 35 degree Celsius heat. The numbers are fascinating – as are the human stories behind them! Finally freed from their hellish trap, Los 33, as they became known, became popular folk heroes… followed by the media, recognized wherever they went, sought after far and wide… But behind the miracle of their rescue, who are these men suddenly thrust into the spotlight? Director Orlando Arriagada went and met four of them, obtaining privileged access into their new and not-always-charmed lives under the unaccustomed glare of the international spotlight.
